- How can I use an iPad for teacher management purposes?
- How can I use an iPad for student instruction?
- How can I use an iPad in my classroom to promote student learning?
- Teachers will be able to use an iPad effectively for teacher management purposes (ex. Infinite Campus and school email).
- Teachers will be able to find and use apps for the iPad for instruction with students.
- As a whole group, discuss teachers’ experiences using iPads and discuss what they want to gain from this class.
- Refer to the ISTE Standards for Students.
- Begin by showing teachers how to use all of the basic features of an iPad.
- Discuss how to use an iPad as a presentation tool with students.
- Discuss a few iPad apps and Web 2.0 tools for QR codes that can be used with students.
- Show teachers how to find and use apps that can be used in their classrooms.
- Teachers may try out standard apps, finding apps, use the scan apps, or try anything in the handouts.
- Circulate and assist as needed.
- Help teachers find apps as needed on an individual basis.
- Teachers will share an app with the class that they think will help them for either teacher management purposes or instruction with students.
- Teachers will take the Evaluation Survey (found in PD Express) before they leave.
- Materials Needed: iPads, computer with Reflector, projector
- Check audio, video, and hyperlinks ahead of time.
- Post handouts on website.
